When it comes to recording video signals from a number of cameras on to a Time Lapse VCR the Ernitec E-MUX multiplexer range is the right solution. Besides offering a very high picture quality at a reasonable price the E-MUX series offer a number of useful features. The E-MUX is available in these versions:
- 9MS, 9 channel, monochrome, simplex
The colour models feature a resolution of 720 x 576 pixels. This gives clear images even when using multiscreen displays. The 9 channel models offer multiscreen displays of 2 x 2, 3 x 3, PIP (picture in picture) as well as vertical and horizontal splits. The 16 channel models furthermore offer 10, 13 and 16 way splits. The E-MUX has programmable day and night sequences for each day of the week. This allows automatic changes of not only the recording rate but also of which cameras are being recorded. The Covert Camera mode prevents the operator from accessing specific cameras, though still allowing them to be recorded. Even during play-back of a tape, the operator cannot select the covert cameras. The front panel can be locked so that the operator does not have access to any of the set-up menus. This obviously prevents the operator from modifying any parameters and reduces the risk of user errors. The E-MUX features one alarm input per camera. Upon an alarm, the multiplexer can be programmed to do a number of actions, such as increasing the recording rates from one or multiple cameras, displaying the alarm cameras on the monitor, either in splitscreen or sequence modes, and also activating two alarm outputs. The alarm handling can be set to automatic day/night mode so that the alarm response depends on the time of day. |
